It Doesn’t Have to be a Dress!

Are you a dress girl? No me neither! Party season brings out the sartorial fraud in me because I wear a dress as if I’m meant to, when in any other situation, I’m barely ever found in one. My best friend lives in dresses but I always think, why would you waste the opportunity to style up several different separates together and try something new? Because once you’ve worn a dress, that’s it, you’ve seen it.

Of course I’m not always thinking like this, it’s fun to pop on a special frock like I did in my last party post but in truth, nothing beats a good pair of leggings! It’s all about velvet this year (well it has been for a while but at last the shops are offering us up more colour ways – purple? yes!) and surprisingly this is my first pair. It was an easy party pick from Boohoo’s #Dressmas campaign offerings and one that I’ll just as happily wear to Pilates as I would to New Years Eve.

Now you can’t style a dress to those two extremes now can you?!

Also, can we just take a sec to see how cute the pass case is at the bottom of the post? I gasped in wonder when it arrived from British leather company Brit-Stitch and it’s only £15 to personalise your own – quick! Last minute pressie!

I’m a dress gal myself but I do love that outfit – jewels and sequins are a great way to jazz up separates 🙂 x

I loooove velvet leggings and I bought some at Monki, they do have great ones with patterns as well! But I love the purple ones you’re wearing in this post. They look so bright and make me feel as if you’d feel very happy when wearing them 😉

I’m not much of a dress girl either no. More of a slacks and jacket kind of fella, you knew that already right? Those leggings (sure they’re not trousers?) look ace, well into them. The personalised pass case is wicked too, I wouldn’t mind something like that actually, bit more manly though.

I love how you’ve blended purple with bright blue sequins! The outfit pops out so well even if it’s not a dress. I usually don’t like sequins but you totally work it here. 🙂
