I’m Lucy, a London based lifestyle blogger here at ShinyThoughts and social media manager at British family brand Boden clothing.

On the blog I share my colourful style, useful and interesting travel experiences and musings, particularly tips for working with brands using my 5 years experience working in fashion.

In 2015, my friends and I created #TheBloggersMarket in a bid to bring the Blogging community together at a shopping event with a difference. We have since opened the door to over 10,300 people spread over four successful events, each one bigger and more exciting than the next.

Read all about them here.

As well as my day and evening jobs, I also mentor professional Bloggers on their content strategy and working methods.

I created ShinyThoughts in May 2009 through a desire to share my creative hobbies with other nerdy girls who had discovered the internet.

9 years later, the blog covers my insight working in Influencer Marketing, colourful lifestyle content and collaborations with some of my favourite brands all presented in my easily recognisable, colourful style.

ShinyThoughts aims to raise a smile with content that is uplifting, inspiring and proudly hueful.

More about Lucy

By day I work on spreading joy through Boden’s social media channels, commissioning Influencers and helping shape brand campaigns.

Take a look at Boden’s Instagram account here. Nice clothes huh?

Prior to Boden I worked at ASOS managing Influencer campaigns for #AccessAllASOS where I looked after 1,500 Influencers – bringing into fruition a whole host of projects and events with partners ranging from Coppafeel to Adidas.

I have also worked freelance at Liberty London, created sets for photoshoots and trade shows and have shot for Carnaby Street and various PR agencies.

Aiming to help support other young women working in my field, I partnered with my blogging friend Kim to create Social Gals, a UK network for lifestyle Social Media Managers. We support our members both online and via meet ups through open conversations that inspire, advise and give confidence.

Read more about my career so far here.

My unique perspective from working on both sides of the social media fence has enabled me to write and talk about ways in which bloggers and brands can work better together, create content with countless brands myself, co-host my events and sit on various Influencer Marketing panels. Last May saw me speak at the UKs biggest blogging conference, Blogtacular.

Listen to my Blogtacular podcast here.

Both as ShinyThoughts in my professional life, I am in support of authentic, genuine and quality content in a world of hacks, bots and pay-as-you-go followers. Stay true people!

    Hi Lucy,
What would you say is the best camera/camera equipment for a beginner blogger? Your pictures always look so cool and professional!

    1. Hey Caitlin!

Thank you, very kind! I would always recommend the camera I used to use (or a similar one). I used a Canon 550d – it’s a half-frame camera that is light and easy to use and good to learn the basics on. You can either use the ‘kit lens’ that it comes with or I’d recommend a 35mm lens – very versatile!
