Meredith and Me

silver star balloon birthday

Notting Hill

It was the day of my 26th birthday when the absolutely charming Meredith Sherlock shot me down ‘that street that Hugh Grant lived on’.  A shoot with this very talented camera-wielding lady had been long in the pipeline but hadn’t materialised over the 6 month window from The Bloggers Market (where we first met) to now (when she would leave to head back to Canada). Luckily the Thursday afternoon worked out and we met halfway in the neck of the woods she came to call her home (the lucky thing).

Notting Hill has always been fairly far away for me but is worth the trek for the streets upon streets of pastel and vibrantly coloured houses. Last time I shot down these here parts was with the darling Xanthe Berkeley when I wore all those fancy dresses.

This time though, 19 year old Meredith did her thing, softly guiding me into different locations along the street. As a blogger, you’d think I’d be A OK with anyone pointing a lens at me but I’ve become so accustomed to the same people shooting me that when someone new and professional comes along, it’s a whole different face-game. I think she did a pretty good job at snapping me despite any unease (that, and my embarrassingly deflated balloon)!

I was so sad that I had to leave so soon (Sky Garden awaited me so I can’t complain) but I was delighted to have had even a couple of hours with the photographer that so often popped up in the Instagram feed at work. Thanks so much Meredith and best of luck at Parsons!

  1. Wow, these photos are magnificent! Meredith definitely has a good eye and lots of skills.
I totally understand that unease in front of new photographers. Even fellow bloggers make me feel awkward!

As usual, I love how you aren’t afraid of color. The yellow works so well with those shiny shoes 😉
