Happy New Year!
I love looking back on the past year, it’s really exciting to discover what you’ve achieved and attempted over the last 365 days. It’s also useful to rediscover all those things you forgot about and put them all together in a list so that you can step back, put on a bit of a smug smile and think, ‘yeah, I did good!’ It sets you up to do even better in the next year and has you wondering what you’ll be proud of having done in 2016!
I know I’ve been particularly lucky this year, being offered some amazing opportunities which I’m very thankful for, but going to other side of the world for the first time is going to make 2015 hard to beat. Here are some of mine and your favourite posts from the last year!
This time last year, I was feeling productive! I set about improving my home and popped my tips here: 5 Steps to Shiny-up your Home this New Year. This reminds me, might be time for another shelf clear out…
Every now and then I show you some new things I’ve been loving and although I only managed one post last year, you liked it! Here are my New Things: For your desk & kitchen.
Everyone knows me as a colourful dresser so Boden’s project asking me to style up two vibrant looks, one for work and one for a wedding was right up my street! Take a snoop: Dressing Colourfully: Embrace the Brights!
One of your favourite outfits of the year was The Coat and Hat Co-ord look. Maybe it was the hat. Should probably wear more hats…
Last month I showed you what it’s like to be a A North Londoner in South London with some of my fave spots from across the river.
Home from Home
It’s on my ‘must do more of’ list every year but I did manage to see a little more of the U.K last year! Last month I visited my friend Sophie in Birmingham, fell in love with Margate, I went to Brighton to snoop on some Etsy Sellers’ workshops and I drove to the Cotswolds in a Citroen car which I blogged right here: Cactus in the Cotswolds.
Closer to home, I helped my boyfriend move into his new place in Camden and essentially took over the decorating of the house. Naturally. My visual merchandising hands got very excited at the prospect of IKEA trips and colour palette planning. Thankfully both my boyf and his flatmate were chuffed with the results! See How to help decorate your boyfriends’ house right here.
At the start of the year, the Blogging girls and I planned our own blogging trip to the Netherlands with KLM Airlines. You loved my City Guide: Colourful Amsterdam where I showed you my face vibrant spots in the city. The trip brought us closer together and in the summer I posted my #BlogBabes series celebrating our friendship!
As Spring came in, my boyfriend and I set off for a whistle-stop trip to Puglia in the south of Italy for a 4 day break. It was Pinterest-perfect, I’d really recommend it! Take a look at my Holiday Guide: Puglia, Italy.
In the summer I was lucky enough to be invited to discover a corner of France I hadn’t yet explored, la Corrèze! I wrote all about the activities you can do in the area from paragliding to kyaking and all the things you can do in La Corrèze: to chill out.
Autumn was the icing on the holiday cake – a trip to Australia! By far the highlight of the year, my boyfriend and I spent 2.5 weeks tripping down the east coast stopping for A day or two in Byron Bay, Brisbane, Newcastle, Sydney and Melbourne. Stay tuned for more posts to come!
