A Colourful Day out in Neal’s Yard
Last weekend, Kristabel and I trotted up to central London to spend a final day together before she jet sets off to Thailand for 6 weeks! What more appropriate activity to wish her farewell than to rain dodge through London? None I tell you! We did have a mission in mind however, to find my dad a Fathers Day gift – something in the sweet smelling departement and so we started in Neal’s Yard, the sort of little corner you stumble across and then can never find again.
The first time I entered it’s tiny courtyard I felt like I’d discovered another country, full of colour and feeling like a sanctuary space you might find at a festival. No better place for colourful me that’s for sure!
The second I’d finished posing like a goon in my new beloved Lazy Oaf crop top and shiny new Alphabet Bag, the sky finally opened (the heavens obviously approve of Bloggers!) and off we dashed in search of dim sum shaped food. Kristabel, queen of chinese grub lead us through ChinaTown to London Jade Garden opposite the W Hotel where a queue out onto the flooded streets told me this might be a good one!
Whilst we probably ordered far too much, the various miscellaneous shaped parcels certainly went down well. Finally, I headed towards Covent Garden tube and found a perfect Paul Smith fragrance in the Garden Pharmacy after a tip off on Twitter – phew!
Look out for my guest blog post coming soon on Kristabel’s blog whilst she’s away!
