The perfect way to spend a Saturday!
While the crazy clicking of lenses and sounds of shivering bodies of London Fashion Week continued in the east, my good friend Kristabel and I slipped off towards Mayfair for a divine few hours at Bond and Brook, a lovely, fresh restaurant in Fenwick’s department store. I couldn’t wait to dine there again after having taken tea there with Carrie for Wish Magazine in the Spring. I can vouch that their orange scented scones are just divine and just I couldn’t wait to taste another coup of their delicious champagne again. Bubbles at brunch is the only way, darling!
I was pretty sold on ordering the steak, I always tell myself that eating out somewhere lovely is definitely going to do a meaner steak than any of my attempts, don’t you agree?! Jesus, it was incredible. Every bite, I tell you! I was very excited by it all to say the least. Kristabel couldn’t choose, so was in luck that one half of the offering is a taster menu. She went for adorable instagram-worthy mini fish cakes, beef carpaccio, coated prawns and a rocket salad. We both went for cute little orange brulees for desert that were surprisingly soft and creamy inside and came with cute shortbreads. Yum yum indeed!
It was just so lovely to sit back and take our time to chat and nibble on the perfectly sized portions, we even sauntered over to the book case and took a peep at the beautiful fashion tomes. Little tip – tell your date to meet you half an hour later so that you can chill out and have a peruse of the books first! After an outrageously leisurely but most definitely needed lunch, we took a little walk around, posing about near Vogue House. I love my new ASOS bomber jacket – definitely a good buy in the sale I say!
Take a look at the Bond & Brook menu – they serve at breakfast and lunch and is well worth the little treat, I’ll be back before long I know it! And this is what I wore! Thank you Kristabel for being my date and taking my photos.
