Still in the mood for Skating!
At first I thought it would be too late to tell you all about the beautiful ice rink at Somerset House along with it’s row of exclusive boutiques, but then the white sky opened over Europe and suddenly Skate seemed the perfect place to hang out. Mulled wine in hand of course! Unfortunately I have missed the mark because the rink is now closed but that won’t stop me reminiscing and reminding anyone in or visiting London to head to Somerset House none the less as it always has brilliant exhibitions on! (Don’t miss the free Tim Walker exhibition on for just another 3 days!!)
I popped along for the launch of Skate again this year as it’s always a stunning spectacle: The lights! The professional skaters! The fact that I was stood next to Ellie Goulding, chatting to her boyfriend without knowing! (still can’t get over that one!) and of course having a little skateroo is always the best of fun. Although I missed the adorable Tiffany pop-up shop this year, the Christmas Arcade more than made up for it. With mini boutiques from Tatty Devine (who had created a 2D xmas tree from discarded acrylic pieces from their workshop!) Hope and Greenwood, Bengt and Hoxton Street Monster Supplies which you just must take a look at! There was plenty to see and do – see you there next year!
As for an ice rink still open other than your local pond, (not advised) check out Broadgate in central London.
See what I wore when I went skating at Somerset House last year!

I want one of these in Chicago! I can’t believe there are boutiques and such integrated into the setting. How divine! I must make a trip to London during the winter seasons one of these years. Eeek!
I absolutely love watching ice skating, always feels so magical. This post has such a christmassy feeling to it, the weather outside is confusing me too, it does look like christmas!! X
Good photos! I love the colors.

You seem to find the most amazing places/events on around London! These photos are so pretty 🙂 xx

I took ice skating lessons for two years when I was younger, and I really wish that I would have kept with it. Though, now when I go ice skating I don’t really have a problem with falling!
