Guess which country I’m in!
So did you guess that I was in France? La Manche, Normandy to be precise. Land of the Simon family and destination for the last 6 or so Christmasses. It’s not a place unlike where I live in England (rain, cats, the token chav group), only the architecture and exterior cladding (or lack of) is either grand and boasts historical importance, or is what me and my Dad brand as ‘typically French’…
My brother and I stumbled across this cute side road in Valognes where my aunt lives on our walk back from the local Boulangerie. Note: ‘local’ when describing a bakery’s situation in France usually means 100meters or so from your front door. It was the perfect spot to pose even if the locals were peering and questioning what on Earth we were doing out there from behind their low, single glazed windows!
This was my Boxing day outfit. (sorry, I know it’s painful to think back to twenty-twelve when we’re craving the spring already!) What did you wear? For me, it was a perfect time to style the ‘casual sequin look’! Just take a party-piece like my gold skirt and pair it down with a grandaddy-esque jumper or, if you’ve chosen a sparkly top, grunge it up with some moody leggings and trainers. Voila!
Sequin skirt – Nelly / Coat – Vintage (similar here) / Jumper – €1 from Antwerp thrift store / Gold spot tights – Bebaroque / Glitter ankle boots – Tamaris / Black chain link bracelet – AnnaLou of London / Stud headband – Nelly

Only you Lucy could convince me that a sequinned skirt was a perfectly casual outfit for buying bread in! But I am convinced – you look amazing, I love your whole outfit!
Hahaha, well it WAS Boxing day! Which means sequins are even more allowed

You look amazing, as always! I did not look like that on Boxing Day, I don’t think I left the comfort of my pyjamas!
