Playing Virtual Dress Up!

I love dressing up just as much as the next fashion and personal style Blogger, but I only ever do it on my body with the clothes I already own which is pretty constricting really! I’m sure like me, you always end up dreaming for ‘that’ pair of trousers or ‘that scarf’ to perfect an outfit but of course, we can’t own all the pieces in the world. Damn. Maybe from now on, I should make myself outfit collages like this first and then not have the problem again!

I’ve been playing virtual dress-up over on the Zalando website (a German based online clothing and shoe store that I didn’t know about until some Bloggy friends starting posting awesome outfits!) and decided to share my looks with you, which I’ve realised seem to have turned into outfits fit for Bloggers I know! I’m finally having a proper browse of their website after picking a piece out for next months Take 10 styling challenge. My mind quickly spotted pieces that went well together and I ended up obsessively creating looks that would put me perfectly into different characters!

I feel that the top one is probably the most ‘Shiny Thoughts’ when I’m feeling like a bit of sport-luxe! Which one is most you?

I imagine this look being worn by the lovely Olivia from What Olivia Did (minus the creepers though!) I can also see her in the last look too! Or maybe Miss Kristabel from I Want You to Know?

I think I subliminally had my best friend Carrie in mind for this look! Maybe it has something to do with the houndstooth skirt I shot her in in her latest post!

This one is definitely for the American and Australian Bloggers out there though I can’t put my finger on who!

Have you seen any pretty pieces you like from Zalando? I love the fact that they sell my jewellery fave Me & Zenaย and a rather stunning fashion selection from Awear!

This post has been sponsored but all ideas my own.

Lucy I don’t want to sound like a jerk but I want to voice my views and as a long-term shiny thoughts fan and loyal reader I hope you can appreciate. I have to say I know you’ve had a hard time since graduating finding work (as have I and I imagine many others) but I am getting really fed up of all these sponsored posts- I feel like every post from your blog in the last couple months has either been to promote something you were asked to attend/were gifted or has been sponsored. Alongside your promotion for wish magazine it feels like everything is just to advertise something! You used to post lots of cute posts with items you’d found or made, outfit posts using clothes you already owned and my favourite were the regular girl lifestyle posts featuring your days out with friends or stuff you and your boyfriend had done recently! I’ve been reading your blog for years and the output has changed significantly in the last couple months save the olympics posts- I hope this is temporary and you will be returning to the specifically Lusy-esque posts soon. I used to really love the personal touch in your blogs and I feel like that has gone, and if you’re finding problems with blogging I think we your loyal fans would respect that and you should feel able to tell us, and that you should respect US your fans enough to tell us about it as well, like being little, magpie girl, flying saucer etc all have both in the past and recently. I hope this doesn’t upset or anger you xx

I appreciate you bringing this to my attention! I really would like to do more personal posts actually! As you said, it’s been very tough since uni so I’ve had to accept paid posts but strive to keep them as creative and personal to me as possible ๐Ÿ™‚ . I’ve explained much further in my email for you and will be doing my best over the next few months to go back to the Lucy-esque posts like you loved ๐Ÿ™‚

      love xxxx
