Being a Lady about Town
You probably know that I love a good styling challenge and this “3 ways to make something you wrap around your neck look fresh and unique within several looks” idea was no exception! Not sure if you’ve heard, but our British girl Alice Temperley has created a neat little line for John Lewis called Somerset.
Although I don’t hail from the country where miss Temperley was bred, I have close ties with it. My best friend is from there, as is the Mulberry factory shop. So you know, it warrants an annual visit! I was interested, therefore to take a little peep at the range. It’s definitely a collection for the career lady, making dressing easy with a simple colour palette and that perfect mid-range price.
I was asked to see how I could pop a piece into my own wardrobe by creating these outfits. Can’t say I’m a 9-5 desk job kind of gal so it was fun to take the scarf out of it’s comfort zone! Just pair it with muted warm tones and tuck it into a waist belt, or throw it together with khaki for a appropriate county attire! (The scarf is 50% wool so delightfully warm for any camping excursion!) I’m sure it would also look awesome with a pop of neon!

Festival Fan!
A baggy army style jacket is all your need to update your denims for the Autumn as pretty much dictated by the Topshop Unique collection! I’m sure you can pick one up second hand somewhere for more authenticity and less of a price tag.

Escape for the Evening
For a night time look, I just draped the scarf like a cape and grabbed any glitter or patent I could find in my wardrobe! Check out some of the other scarves at John Lewis here!
p.s I’ve heard that the collection has completely surpassed sales expectations so well done Alice! I think I’ll take this dress and this pony skin bag please! Beaut. Thank you Carrie for the photos. P.p.s This post was kindly sponsored.

I love your hair!! I have dark hair and I’ve been wanting to dip-dye it like that for ages but I don’t know how – please let us in on your secret! Love your pictures.

Hey frances! Thank you! Aah my hair is a long story! I always used to bleach bits and then put Stargazer colours in but because I’ve now done so many all over colours, my natural darkness has come out a bit. I also still have some slightly bleached ends here and there. I just whacked a load of Stargazer over my whole head and let it ‘stick’ to whatever bits it wanted.
The best tip? Don’t wash your hair for over a week like me and then it stays longer!
hehe xx
Such colorful and fun outfits! Especially loving the last one!
Such a good post! Love all outfits.

3 ways for one item isn’t exactly easy but somehow you manage to make it look it
Talk about long legs, girl, yours go on for MILES! But the top/skirt/scarf combo is great! Very summery, causal, chic and I’m WAY into that top in your previous post too. The ruffles are just right!XX,
