Home Sweet Home!

I’ve just returned from my lovely week away in Hope Cove, Devon with a gaggle of girlies from my old school. While some dream of Ibiza or Greece, we opted for good old Britain and I’m very thankful that we did! I’ve seen so little of my own country, but this little trip has given me a boost! I’ve got Oxford, York and Norwich next on my list!

Thanks to a friend of a friend, we got a purse-friendly offer to stay in twin cottages just a skip (and a few side kicky things) away from to the sea. My mouth make a very wide grin when I walked into no.2 – it was so cute and bright and airy and adorable and yay! While we didn’t get the best weather all of the time, we  made the most of it by going on several-hours-long walks to nearby towns. I loved coming back to our nest in the evening, making hot choccie, dinner and cuddling up in blankets to watch a big bunch of girly films that I can’t understand why I hadn’t seen before. (Bridesmaids, Miss Congeniality, you get me!) In short, it was a wonderfully de-stressing week so thank you girls!
I hope you’re having a lovely time too and not letting the weather get you down!

It looks like the perfect British seaside holiday! I spent most of my holidays in the UK as a child, and I still do now to be honest – there’s so many places I haven’t been still! I’ve never been to Norwich but York and Oxford are both lovely – you are going to have an amazing time!

Devon is so beautiful, I’ve been there so many times but I always love coming back! Britain is so quirky it’s worth exploring, even if we do live here and it always rains.

Looks like a great holiday house. I’m staycationing in my own city this summer so need to think of things to do in a wet London.

I love little holidays in the UK! There are some really beautiful places here and I think you can have just as different an experience as you would going to a different country.

It looks like you had a really lovely time.

That cottage looks lovely! I know what you mean about travelling around Britain, I really want to go on mini little ‘staycations’ to Cornwall and Oxford and so many other places too, but I’d have to wrangle my friends to come with me, they all love the sun!
