Have you been to Anthropologie? Isn’t it just beautiful? I went for the first time to the London Kings Road shop instead of the usual Regent Street one (which, btw always has the most incredible window displays!) Like it’s sister, Kings Road is breathtaking in the way that it transports you to a bit of another world and delights your eyes by guiding you on different flooring levels to look either up or down at impressive displays from water features to a huge stack of spidery school chairs. This store is particularly astonishing for the actual interior architecture of the building. The brand must have been more than chuffed to merchandise around such exquisite features as sculpted iron supports in the ceiling.
As their website dreamily describes, it’s a store for people like us who like to take time and appreciate good design and get a big lost in the romance of it all. I certainly did when I visited as my best friends’ +1 to the Anthropologie and Hih jeans’ pop up shop launch. I sipped a cheeky spiked cucumber water and slipped off to take snaps of the place while there weren’t any customers around. It was very easy to get lost that’s for sure! Originally from America, Anthropologie really stood out when it came to London. I remember seeing a stunning cascade of stained teabags as their display and just had to go in – how innovative! Sit down on a big slouchy chair and browse their beautiful big books and definitely soak up the atmosphere and appreciate the Visual Merchandising. I want that job!
