Hello! You may have noticed that Shiny Thoughts has had a freshen up! Finally, my new design is up and running and although I’d like to tweak a couple of things, it’s pretty much good to go! I designed the fresher look myself in Photoshop and then it was kindly built in WordPress (I moved from Blogger) by the lovely Andrew Jones Developer. It was a pretty messy move, buying server space and all, but I got there in the end!
If you take a look at the new pages at the top, you’ll see I’ve extended the London Fun section where I post up exhibitions I’m excited about and Pretty Places – a list of other blogs and things I’ve been involved with. There’s also a new Hello bit where I natter on about myself!
Lastly, I’d love to feature some new shiny places in my sponsor section of the sidebar so if you’d like to advertise your blog, website or shop and you’re a Shiny Thoughts kinda place then you can advertise through Project Wonderful or through me. Just visit the Q and Ads page at the top. Thanks for reading everyone!
Giving Lomo a go go! The CMYK Diana
I was really excited to finally try out a lomography camera – I’ve never used one before! And what better camera for me to use than one called CMYK
in all my favourite colours?! I managed to get my hands on this beautiful Diana and Flash as I used it in my latest project, the TV snippet, Outfitting Britain
where I used the camera to take snaps of things British. It was just the perfect colours for the project and gave me an excuse to give it a go! I must say it is rather tricky and expensive to get film developped but the excitement of going to Snappy Snaps and picking up the photos definitely outweighs it! Plus it comes with a big and beautiful hard-bound book of info and photos from Lomo and the romantic story of the brand.
Like everyone says, when we’re used to always using digital, shooting in analogue always makes you think more and then cherish the photos afterwards! At the top I have photos taken around Soho in London, in the middle are pictures of High Tea and clothes with Next
for their summer press day (plus a dual exposure shot of me!) and then at the bottom are photos of the Tatty Devine jewellery
I was kindly loaned for the project and my best friend and our cat looking very square-arsed! It’s good fun so do have a go if you can!
Carnaby for lending me the camera!
