Wine Time – Denbies in Dorking

>Welcome to Denbies Wine Estate in my home town of Dorking in Surrey. It is the UKs largest single estate Vineyard and this year has won a fantastic accolade – Winners of the best Rose in the World. THE WORLD! incredible for England in my eyes. It’s one of those places you grow up with; whether running around it as part of my schools Sponsored Run or riding through the beautiful striped slopes on the train to London. It was even the setting for James May’s lego house in Toy Stories. It is a lovely place to take visitors for an amble so when my cousin came to stay, my whole family popped out for the day. We sat down on the chalk hills for lunch when a tour train came and stopped right behind us. We got a rather entertaining guide talk for free where we learnt those extra fun facts about our town that we didn’t previously know. After our walk, we sauntered into the beautiful large atrium cafe for a cake and tea where you can also go on tours of the distillery! I’ve not been myself though that’s definitely something I need to experience. It’s only 40 mins from central London so why not pop down for the day?! Rose anyone?

    >WOW! That place looks so glorious! I love great big green, open places like that, it's one of my favourite things about England! You took some super lovely photos, too.
