Shere Beauty

Simples.
Cor what a pun this post title is! ahem, welcome to Shere, a stunning little old village on the way to Guildford, South England. It is apparently the most photographed village in Surrey (oops :S) but it also happens to be the destination of a film camera too. Some of The Holiday, the film starring Cameron Diaz et al was shot here. Not that that would in any way entice me to visit more, but acts purely as a bite of trivia with which to give the village some context and to cement it as a beautiful gem of a location. I’m told lots of celebs have homes here too and I’m not surprised. It’s just as quaint, quiet and curious as you can imagine. I loved splashing around in the ford, peeping into peoples gardens and dreaming of owning that amazing yellow camper. Me and the boy didn’t get the time to see The Old Prison House or the teeny museum, we visited fleetingly in just ten minutes but considering it’s only that much time again from his house, we will be back!

    >Ooh pretty! I can see why so many people photograph it!

The Holiday was such a dire film, but I have to say in its defence it made England look pretty!
