Today I me and a good old school friend went down to Somerset House to see the much anticipated Pick Me Up Contemporary Craft Fair which I went to last year for my birthday and LOVED! Naturally I was super excited again this year, and it didn’t disappoint! Even though there was no Rob Ryan to watch masterfully cut out paper shapes, there was more than enough to gawp at. I just adore seeing this type of artwork, all graphic shapes, bright colours and beautiful, sometimes gasp-worthy methods of illustration. We loved the little set up at NoBrow where they had some pretty cool giant cardboard props. I loved pretty much all the work but particularly the artists mentioned above. I really could be there all day as there is so much to take in and with a running list of live events (make your own robot illustration out of typography today!) and artists drawing live, not to mention the ability to browse through loads of zines and books on sale, you really will see time fly! The only drawback is it’s only open till Sunday! Get yourself down there in the next two days, it’s only £5 and everything is for sale. I bought two postcards with cute prints on for £1 but could easily have spent hundreds. Find out more about it here and see more of my pics from the exhib on my facebook page. Have Fun! 🙂
