>Love Train

>Apologies to those of you to whom the word ‘Valentines’ brought you out into a cold sweat and have rejoiced that today has been heart-free since a month of reds and pinks have dominated the shops, but here is a full-fat, loved up post so.. embrace the love one last time! For all you other lovely/lucky dreamers and lovers, here’s a post for you. During this past heart-expanding festive time, it just so happened to be me and my boyfriends 3 year anniversary. This is what we decided to do for the day: Revisit our childhood (or be Early Granny and Grandad) and take High Tea up on a beautiful Steam Train on West Sussex’s BlueBell Railway. I was very impressed with how in keeping with the steam age the whole experience was. From the coalmen’s uniforms to the fruit cake on our stand, we had a truly vintage day out. Pity about the rain, but hey it’s February and it’s Britain and anyway, Lovers don’t know it’s Raining
Awfully quaint eh?! I was really happy to know that simply paying for a ticket was helping a good cause – supporting the dedicated volunteers who help preserve one of our beautiful symbols of traditional British life. We donated an extra pound each which would allow 1/2 an inch of restoration work on a new area of track. It’s good to know our romantic day out will please other hearts than ours!

    >The Bluebell Railway used to be one of my favourite school holidays daytrip destinations when I lived in Kent – I loved the place as a kid! Now I live just down the road from the Great Central Railway which is similar. This post makes me want to dress up and pay a visit to the dining car!

    >Awww looks gorgeous! I went on the Bluebell Railway as a child and you've really made me want to go back now! I met Father Christmas on it once when I was little, so I always associate it with presents and mince pies and good things!
