Happy Birthday My Sugarland!

>

This is a long time coming – but here’s to wishing the beautiful vintage and contemporary fashion boutique MySugarland a very happy second birthday! For two lacy, beaded and bejewelled years, the shop in Angel, North London has been selling every girls dreams in the form of stunning vintage wedding dresses to pretty pret-a-porter and screen printed greetings cards. With a bit of chunky wrapped chain necklaces, nude patent pumps and teacup rings on the side and plenty of smiles from the staff, it is a friendly, happy place to shop. On this fine evening I was treated to colourful cocktails, the mandatory (but no less appreciated) iced fairycakes, chats with models sporting Jasper Garavida, a typewriter artist and the lovely Elizabeth Lau! I was very impressed with Keira Rathbones incredible portraits and still-lifes created on a typewriter, an amazing craft! The night was vintage themed with hair styled by Nina’s Vintage and Retro Hair Parlour and a one man band Dollar Bill. He was a friendly gent who, with his friend, gladly posed for me. His well dressed friend told me that he got his pocket watch from a traveller after a bet… Thanks MySugarland!

    >Are you kidding? I LOVE the 'poor quality': these shots are gorgeous, Lucy, esp. the girl typing.

I wish you were there, too – it was lovely. I know what you mean, it's a privilege – it's something I'm just about to post about – but also confusing because we can't go to everything. AND you've got school. But you were so there in spirit. Big hug, Cupcake. Let's meet up soon – maybe with Carrie and Shini & Kit? xox
