Louise Grays happy Presentation at Somerset House was a welcome break to the usual head-craning back and forth rhythm of catwalks, as well as brightening the mood of weary Fashion Week goers. Its very easy to slip into a sulking frown when you go about the day, which is terribly sad considering there’s so much to celebrate! It was bizarre to feel my eyebrows and corners of my mouth lift when I entered the Portico Rooms, but it sure felt energising and uplifting!
Around the room were wide boards with childlike illustrations of figures and holes cut out where the heads and hands are. Like the comedic stands you get at the seaside (and like the fashion board I created for my Foundation FMP) you were invited to poke your features through and make fun of yourself! Whilst ‘wearing’ the latest and most fun and colourful new outfits around!Louise was looking very relaxed and casually chatting to anyone. I loved her Richard Nicol for Topshop bustier worn over the pale blue shirt.
Carrie sporting the latest 2D trends and in the centre with Louise’s assistant, Fiona who we had the pleasure of chatting about the creating of the collection with!
I had the pleasure of meeting Fred Butler, an idol and a designer I greatly admire! We agreed that presentations like this are the way forward for Fashion Week! Ahh, colour and fun, more of this at Fashion Week please!
