This morning I witnessed the Ashish show from which I began to grasp a little story of trends in my head. Even seeing the small percentage of shows on and off the schedule, its already noticeable what aspects of the outfits reoccur.
Heres what I’ve picked up so far, as referenced in Ashish:
Mixing luxe fabrics (e.g sequins) with ‘rougher’ textiles (e.g tweed)
Pretty loose hair with colours in (Alexander Wang style mixed with red and torquise strands)
Big heavy jackets
Gathered waist trousers (when theres excess that frills out at the waistband)
I knew this show was going to be fun when firstly I spotted Paloma Faith in the front row wearing – sequins! Yay! And what streamed out the catwalk? Lotttsss of sequins!
Secondly, (fashion people do have a sense of humour..) for as the lights went out and photographers hushed the crowed, everyone cottoned on to the ‘Sssh’ing and quickly, what can be described bizarrely as an uproar of ‘Sssh’s resounded around the room!
And out came the Ashisshh girls to a happy french tune…
My favourite aspects of this show were the slinky sequined pieces, ruched waist shorts and oversized cross stitches that boshed together sequins with chunky knits.. A little look I may recreate myself.
Lastly, lets all pay attention to the cosiness of those socks and shoess, mmm my feet feel better just thinking about it!
